NikeID Allows You To Go Into Chameleon Mode With The Nike KD VI Chroma iD

Confession time. I haven't bought a pair of Nike KD's since the KD III. That's right, I'm a terrible human being. I tried to buy the Nike KD IV Galaxy's when they were available for online purchase at midnight, only to to strikeout with finding a size 13 at 12:04am. Bummers. The Nike KD V's were going to be a pass for me, and then they unveiled the low-cut versions and I was enamored. Of course, all that talk was not backed up and I never made the purchase. Now, on the 6th iteration, Nike and Kevin Durant have committed to a low-cut shoe and I'm still in pursuit of getting myself a pair. The new customizable NikeID KD VI Chroma editions just might be the ones. Why, because I'm a chameleon, uh huh. (0:30 mark) Now for some words from Nike Inc.:

When evaluating Kevin Durant’s game, it’s the small nuances that make a big difference. Look beyond the obvious. Yes, he can shoot the lights out, but some overlook his post-move footwork or his increased rebounding.

NIKEiD is bringing a new feature to the KD VI that is subtle, yet bold — just like KD’s evolved game. Available beginning Aug. 12, the KD VI will feature a new Chroma material that shifts in color when hit by varying angles of light.

The KD VI Chroma iD is available in seven color options for the upper in addition to 16 accent colors available on the logos, laces, lining, midsole and outsole. Glow-in-the-dark materials will be available on the laces, airbag, midsole, outsole and personalization options.

Two years in the making, NIKEiD’s Chroma option was inspired by popular iridescent paint jobs on cars. Moving forward, Chroma will be available on Nike Basketball signature shoes.
