Three NBA Props To Bet On As The Season Resumes

As the 322 NBA players have now settled inside the bubble in Orlando, Florida, for the restart of the 2020 NBA season, the 22 teams inside Walt Disney World will now take aim at finding their final basketball form and pursuing playoff glory.

According to The Bookies Offers website, there are some engaging NBA props to consider for sports bettors ahead of the restart of the season. Who will be the final teams to clinch playoff spots? Will any team (Brooklyn? Washington?) not win a game in the bubble? Most bubble wins?

If you're ready to risk your entire paycheck on bubble hoops, here's three bets to consider as the league resumes play.

Who Will Win The 8th Seed In The East?

Sure, the race for 8th in the Western Conference has more appeal because of the teams and players involved. The Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs will be positioning themselves for play-in games to make that final playoff seed. But the East isn't all that locked up, either. Yes, the Washington Wizards have the worst record of the 22 teams in the NBA bubble. But the goal is to get within four games of eighth. A decimated Brooklyn Nets team and a fairly mediocre Orlando Magic team—the current seventh and eighth seeds, respectively—aren't that difficult to overcome, even as the Wizards don't have John Wall or Bradley Beal. The smart money is on Orlando but with the aforementioned factors, each of those three teams are viable options.

Highest Individual Scoring Total By A Player In The Eight Games

This is an interesting bet. The over/under for the number of points for one player to score during the 8 "regular season" games is set at 53.5. There are some big-time scorers here—James Harden, Devin Booker and Damian Lillard to name a few—that have exceeded that mark before in their careers. But with the months off, there may still be some conditioning to work through to have the stamina and rhythm necessary to put up that many points. But it certainly can be done. The question is if it can be done in the two weeks before the playoffs. Will teams lean more into their superstars for scoring production, especially those who are looking to improve their seeding? Or will coaches be more inclined to rest their players to prepare for the grueling intensity of the playoffs with much fewer guaranteed rest days?

Toronto Raptors Over/Under Win Total In The Eight Games

The over/under is set at 4.5 for last year's champion. It feels as if the Raptors won the title 13 years ago as opposed to 13 months ago. They've certainly exceeded the expectations most had of them after the departure of Kawhi Leonard to the LA Clippers. But they have what most teams here do not have: built-in chemistry and cohesion. Most of the championship roster is intact and better—with newly-minted All-Star Pascal Siakam becoming the number one option. Will that chemistry propel them to five more wins before the playoffs? Or will there be some rust that causes them to drop at least half those games as they get ready for the playoffs? Time will tell.

Prop bets are abundant in the NBA. And with the restart, may this be your reintroduction into placing those wagers. Let the games begin...again.
