Over the course of 2012, each month Nike Sportswear has released a limited edition Nike Air Force 1 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Force 1. With Nike's latest release in the AF1 XXX Pearl Collection, you could easily make it as a member of the Golden Lords and play Dom Kennedy's Gold Alpinas on repeat.
(Side note: This is the second shoe Nike's released that made me reference the Golden Lords, which if you don't know, is the evil gang from the legendary movie, Meteor Man. Since I realize some of you might have no idea who the Golden Lords are, I drop this clip for your video amusement.)
Okay, now you understand why these shoes would go well with the golden gumby haircuts and jewelry. Here's some detailed info from Nike's Communication Dept.
Launching in limited quantities globally next month, the shoe symbolically juxtaposes the present and past with two different gold finishes. The present is honored with freshly minted new gold coloring on the lateral side and the past comes to life with vintage gold patina on the medial side. Gold speckled laces and pattern on the AF1’s upper combined with premium construction details bring to life the performance-meets-style versatility of this iconic silhouette. Crafted details of the AF1 include rolled leather edges, debossed perforated pattern on the toe box, and leather wrapped speckled midsole.
(Oh ... excuse me, I was bleaching my hair.)
Check the photos below for more looks on the latest AF1 release, and feel free to cop me a pair in the size 13. Enjoy your pertinent reading material for Tuesday.
