“I’d spend hours with my Aunt Pearl as a kid just listening to her advice and eating her PB&J sandwiches. Great memories.” -- Kevin Durant
If you ever needed another reason to feel connected to the humble killer that is Kevin Durant, now you have it. I'd say almost every young boy has had one maternal influence in particular that would make them delicious peanut butter and jelly sammiches while doling out words of wisdom at the same time. Kevin Durant had his Aunt Pearl, I had my Aunt Monica. You want to know the wonderful advice my Auntie gave me as a wayward youth back in the day?
"Treat others as you'd like to be treated. And if they don't, well...then punch 'em in the face baby. In the face." -- Aunt Monica
Wise words from a wise woman. Anyway, here's the Nike KD VI PB&J's in all of their glory.
Per the folks at Nike Inc., this is the first time in The Swoosh's history that a food-themed shoe comes alive on the upper with a jelly-like look. Peanut-gold and maroon are featured on the upper and outsole.
The KD VI Peanut Butter & Jelly launches in limited quantities on Oct. 19 at select retail locations and Nike.com.
