Sports documentaries are my love jones. If there's one that peaks my interest, I will block off my calendar and make the time that it airs the most important thing in my life. On May 16th, consider me out of the office.
Showtime will air 'IVERSON' an inside look documentary film that highlights both the triumphs and struggles of the basketball icon that is Allen Iverson. Here is the trailer for your viewing pleasure, along with photos courtesy of Showtime. (H/T to Next Impulse Sports)
We've watched ESPN's 30 for 30 documentary 'No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson' a few years ago, and it will be interesting to see if and how Showtime can tell a different story about Iverson. However, as time continues and a generation of sports fans are removed from Iverson's greatness, a film like this should keep his legacy in high regard.
Besides, what else are you going to be doing on May 16th? Exactly. Set the DVR, mark your calendar, and lets get the popcorn ready.
