So grab your crew, a red cup, and get ready to turn up because TSFJ is here to give you some new tunes for for your holiday playlist.
Anderson .Paak, “Bubblin”
Yes Lawd! It’s been two years since Dr. Dre’s protégé Anderson .Paak blessed listeners with the smooth sounds of his sophomore album Malibu. Well the singer’s timing is just right with his latest trap-infused single, “Bubblin.” This is the type of song you play when you know you’re a hot commodity, you may do a lot of trash-talking, but will stunt on anyone else at any given moment. If your outfit is fly and you’re feeling good, this is the perfect intro song when you walk into the Memorial Day function.
Jennifer Lopez feat. DJ Khaled and Cardi B, “Dinero”
Another one! Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock, everyone knows DJ Khaled is the king of summer anthems and he doesn’t disappoint behind the boards for JLo’s newest track, “Dinero.” It was only right that Jenny from the block recruited the girl who’s all about making money moves, Cardi B. Even if you’re not partying during the holiday and decided to make some extra cash at work, then this is the track for you.
Trackademicks feat. Ymtk & 1-O.A.K., “Grab Somebody”
Now let’s say you’re on the dance floor at a function and some pretty young thing just caught your eye, what’s your plan? Probably trying to shoot your shot, but first, you might want to sneak a dance in with this eye candy. That’s where this new track from Oakland’s own Trackademicks comes into play. The Bay Area-bred producer links up with Ymtk and 1-O.A.K. on the party anthem, “Grab Somebody.” The bouncy record is all about having a good time with that special someone.
Stanaj feat. Ty Dolla $ign, “Dirty Mind”
If you’ve been following Ty Dolla $ign’s discography since he first hit the scene, he doesn’t have a bad record that he’s featured on (If you find one, we can discuss that another day). In the meantime, he teamed up with pop singer Stanaj on the lustful track, “Dirty Mind.” Stanaj's enticing falsetto along with Ty’s raspy tone makes for a sweet collaboration.
Pharrell Williams and Camila Cabello, "Sangria Wine"
Can’t figure out what to pour up in your red cup? A sweet wine like sangria is always a winner, and hitmaker Pharrell Williams along with Camila Cabello know all about drinking the good stuff. The two are already known for making spicy songs as they previously worked together on Camila’s hit single, “Havana.” Well they’re back with their latest track “Sangria Wine,” a smooth track that is sure to get your body moving. Just make sure your cup is filled properly!
Tiësto & Dzeko feat. Preme and Post Malone, “Jackie Chan”
If you’ve ever been to a club in Las Vegas, more than likely the DJ was spinning a Tiësto record to get the crowd hype. It goes without saying why Tiësto is usually booked for EDC Weekend in Sin City. The EDM producer knows how to get the party started with his infectious beats. He teamed up with Dzeko, Preme and Post Malone on their latest hit, “Jackie Chan.” The acoustic guitar melody mixed with the electronic sound is sure to have folks getting wet and wild at all the pool parties.
Swae Lee, “Hurt To Look”
No playlist is complete without a track from the young Black Beatles. Sibling duo Rae Sremmurd recently released their three-part album which also featured solo projects from Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi. On Swae Lee’s portion titled Swaecation, Lee is showing off his vocal range and going full Drake mode on his summer banger “Hurt To Look.” Although the song may reflect on a lost love, “Hurt To Look” has a chill and sensual sound to entice listeners while lounging on the beach.
Russ, “Back To Life”
Hip-hop artist Russ is no stranger to stating his amount of love for his haters. He’s delivered a number of bops over the past year and he’s returned with his latest “Back To Life.” The Scott Storch-produced track has Russ reflecting on not letting the opinions of others bring him down. Learning to stunt on others while persevering through criticism is a key to life.
KYLE feat. Khalid, “iMissMe”
KYLE is known for dropping off fiery collabs and his latest album Light of Mine doesn’t steer far from his formula. The LA-based rapper teamed up with crooner Khalid on the upbeat track “iMissMe.” The carefee song is all about recognizing self worth after dealing with a breakup. There’s nothing wrong with starting a fresh slate just in time for the summer.
The Internet, “Roll (Burbank Funk)”
It’s been three years since soulful band The Internet graced fans with their hit album Ego Death. After the members released solo projects, the group is back together to bring a smooth summer anthem on “Roll (Burbank Funk). The groovy dance track blends disco elements with the band’s signature rhythmic sound. It’s the perfect song to either dance or skate to, and the group reflects it in the video as well. If your uncle is cooking on the grill, watch him do his two-step to this one!
