In this generation of NBA stars, fans are seeing more ballers dabble with skills off the court and on the mic. During the NBA offseason, Damian Lillard, a.k.a. Dame D.O.L.L.A. is no stranger to dropping new tunes. This summer's been no different as the Portland Trail Blazers star returns with his third album Big D.O.L.L.A. and one of the project's standouts is the Derrick Milano-assisted track, "Beach."

Dame took a little more time to work on Big D.O.L.L.A. since his last album Confirmed dropped in 2017. When fellow ballers and hip-hop lovers talk about athletes who rap, Dame is one of the few who comes to mind. It also helps that he's received co-signs from a number of veteran artists such as Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, and Raphael Saadiq. This album followed his formula of working with the some of the best artists and producers in the game, and it seems to be working in his favor.

On "Beach," Dame and Milano glide across a smooth production from Nonstop Da Hitman, a Grammy-Award winning producer who's known for working with artists such as Cardi B and Drake. With Nonstop behind the boards, Dame spitting bars and Milano singing the hook, the track beams with a summer love vibe. "Beach" is an anthem for the ladies as Dame raps about giving his love interest the finer things in life:

"For a little bit of time, I'll be your everything / Move you in the mansion, we can celebrate / Designer the bezels and get whatever chains / Had to get you up to speed, we ahead of things."

Dame is simply saying all he needs is time from that special someone and he could give her the world. If the weekend calls for a hip-hop love track, put Dame D.O.L.L.A.'s "Beach" in the rotation and be sure to check out this week's pertinent reading material:
