The Dreamville roster has taken over 2019 and as the year approaches its fourth quarter, these artists aren't showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon. Whether it was R&B songstress Ari Lennox releasing her debut album or J. Cole recruiting some of the hottest artists for the label's Revenge of the Dreamers III compilation, the label is adding to its musical dynasty and showcasing industry dominance. Next up to take center stage in the land of Dreamville is hip-hop duo Earthgang with the release of their debut studio album, Mirrorland. As the album draws listeners into the duo's eclectic world, one of the standout tracks is the final song, "Wings."
Over the years, Atlanta has become a major hub in the music scene, particularly hip-hop. Artists like Outkast, T.I., Jeezy, and 2 Chainz have a distinct sound and have always represented ATL to the fullest. Earthgang's Mirrorland may be the duo's first major-label debut, but they've been putting on for their hometown for over the last decade with several mixtapes and tours.
The track "Wings" has Earthgang members Olu (a.k.a. Johnny Venus) and WowGr8 (a.k.a. Doctur Dot) showing appreciation to the city that raised them and yearning for growth as their careers continue to elevate. They want to put their stamp on Atlanta while also remembering the people who supported them from the beginning:
"Going up for the city / Going up for the town / Only day one ni***s with me / Can't keep no one else around."
