Former NFL Star Vincent Jackson Found Dead in Florida.

Former NFL star Vincent Jackson has been found dead in Florida, at the age of 38.

The 38-year-old was found dead at a hotel complex in Brandon, Florida late last night. Since the news broke, tributes have poured out from all over the world.

Vincent Jackson spent seven seasons with the San Diego Chargers from 2005. Then, in 2012, Jackson joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and completed five seasons with the Florida team.

Throughout his career, Jackson scored 57 touchdowns in 155 games. The receiver caught 540 passes for 9,080 yards, and was selected to play in the prestigious Pro Bowl three times in his career.

Chargers Mourn Their Loss

Now the Los Angeles Chargers - after the franchise relocated in 2017 – the NFL club released a statement, starting with: “We are shocked and saddened by news of Vincent Jackson’s sudden passing.

“Vincent was a fan favorite not only for his Pro Bowl play on the field, but for the impact he made on the community off of it. The work he has done on behalf of military families through his foundation in the years since his retirement has been an inspiration to all of us.

“We simply cannot believe he’s gone, and our hearts go out to his wife, Lindsey, their children, his parents, former teammates and everyone whose lives were touched by having known Vincent”.

Tampa Bay Pay Tribute

Meanwhile, the other team he represented during his NFL career released the following: “We are shocked and saddened to hear the terrible news regarding the loss of Vincent Jackson.

“Vincent was a consummate professional who took a great deal of pride in his performance on and off the football field.

“Vincent was a dedicated father, husband, businessman and philanthropist, who made a deep impact on our community through his unyielding advocacy for military families, supported by the Jackson In Action 83 Foundation”.

Many other teammates and fellow NFL professionals have taken to social media to pay tribute to the beloved Jackson.

Jackson Had been Reported Missing On Friday

Jackson was reported missing on February 10 by his family, before being located by police officials two days later. After an assessment, the missing person’s report was cancelled.

Sheriff Chad Chronister spoke on behalf of the office, and said: “My heart aches for the many loved ones Vincent Jackson leaves behind, from his wife and children to the Buccaneers nation that adored him.

“Mr Jackson was a devoted man who put his family and community above everything else”.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said that they are still investigating the cause of death. In an official statement, a local medical examiner’s office said that Jackson’s body “showed no sign of trauma”.
