TSFJ College Hoops Power Rankings: Changing the Guard

What a difference a week makes. There has been quite a bit of movement in our rankings this week, and that is absolutely a good thing. Villanova has fallen out of our rankings completely and Kansas is looking pretty vulnerable themselves right now. All eyes are on Duke and how they’ll fare with Zion Williamson missing some time, and our current number 1 may benefit the most from that absence.

TEAM OF INTEREST:  (1) Virginia

There is something to be said about consistency. While an argument could be made Virginia isn't the best team in college hoops, in most games they sure as hell play like they are. The Cavaliers dismantled a Louisville team that needed a strong win last week and wound up solidifying themselves as the ACC team to topple in the process. I say this knowing they lost to Duke twice (it happens), and may get caught slipping versus a really bad Georgia Tech (they won’t).

Also, can we talk about De’Andre Hunter just a little bit? He’s given opposing teams fits all season and after another excellent performance at Louisville (26 pts, 9-11 FG). Expect him to keep the momentum going this week. If you're someone who watches college basketball to keep up with the next group of NBA players, Hunter should certainly be on your radar.
