Here Is The Baby Blue Sleeved Los Angeles Clippers Uniform You've Always Wanted

There's something intoxicating about the colors, shades and hues of baby blue and its relationship to sports uniforms.

From the greatness that has come from the University of North Carolina's basketball program and their Carolina Blue, to the spins, jukes and sprints of Barry Sanders in the Detroit Lions Hawaiian Blue, to the George Brett pine-tar rage that we've grown to love in the Kansas City Royals baby blue, it's a beautiful thing to witness that color on the field or the court.

It's easy to forget that the Los Angeles Clippers once rocked a beautiful baby blue uniform. From their days as the expansion Buffalo Braves in 1970 to the trek across the country to the San Diego Clippers in 1978, one of their primary colors was a baby blue. Now, in the 2013-14 NBA season, adidas and the Clippers are bringing the baby blue back:

adidas and the Los Angeles Clippers will today unveil a new “Back in Blue” pride uniform at media day for the 2013-14 season.  The light blue short-sleeve uniform will be worn for Clippers Sunday home games throughout the upcoming season.

The “Back in Blue” uniform features a light blue color for the first time since the team was based in San Diego in 1985.  The shorts feature nautical flags to represent the team’s letters – L-A-C – to stand for Los Angeles Clippers.

With a loaded roster, a new coach and a singular focus of winning the NBA championship in their sights, maybe a new cool uniform is all they'll need to get them over the hump. What are your thoughts on the new alternative Clippers jersey? Let us know in the comments section.
