As 2019 begins to wind down, it's safe to say that R&B has been in a great space throughout the year. One particular artist that fans can thank for the smooth jams is up-and-coming singer Summer Walker. The Atlanta singer recently released her debut album Over It that features a number of collaborations including Bryson Tiller, 6LACK, Drake, and Jhene Aiko. However, the song that is sure to win the hearts of many fans is the Usher-assisted track, "Come Thru."

With the assistance of producer London On Da Track, Walker samples Usher's 1997 hit, "You Make Me Wanna," as she tells the story of a situationship which then finds the lovers catching more feelings for a potential relationship. Not only does Walker put her own spin to the R&B classic song, but Usher adds a verse to give his take on cutting ties with anyone before her and starting something new. The kind of song in which that special someone is always on your mind and you just want to be around them, so go ahead and send that late night text and tell them to "Come Thru."

"You make me wanna come through / Quarter after two / Just to put it down on you / You make me wanna replay / All of the things / That you and me, we do"

Fans can only hope that Walker and Usher decide to release this song as a single, a throwback '90s video would be the perfect visual to showcase two lovers leaving people in the past and wanting a real love.

If the week calls for music to get you in your feelings, put Summer Walker's "Come Thru" in the rotation and check out this week's pertinent reading material:
