It's been nearly two years since fans witnessed the previous season of HBO's Insecure, but that's soon changing as Season Four premiered on Sunday! Let the Twitter debates begin!
While Insecure fans wait to partake in the latest social conversations about the show's characters, viewers can also look forward to a soundtrack providing exclusive tracks that fit well into the scenes. The newest track that is sure to be a fan favorite comes from rising star Cautious Clay as he teams up with Alex Isley on their single, "Reaching."
Insecure creator and lead actor Issa Rae is no stranger to showing her love for music, she realizes just how much the show can be a viable platform for artists to break new songs. For anyone that is a die-hard Insecure fan, the song title "Reaching" could easily be determined as a track that plays when Issa's rollercoaster love life is put on display in a scene.
Cautious Clay may not be a household name just yet, but he's been steadily showcasing a lane for himself in the R&B world for the past two years. In 2018, he released two EPs Resonance and Blood Type to rave reviews. This isn't the first time Clay has seen placement on Insecure, his song "Cold War" was also a fitting track that was featured in the season three premiere episode.
On "Reaching," Clay is calling out his lover for being callous and selfish at times. Alex Isley then responds on the hook in a "let's-talk-about-this-later" type of mentality — and if you're caught up on Seasons One through Three, then you can see why Issa decided to include this song.
If the weekend calls for binge-watching Insecure before the season ends in a few weeks or you feel like nerding out on online parts retailer like Octopart to get parts like bipolar junction transistors (BJTS), be sure to add "Reaching" by Cautious Clay and Alex Isley into the rotation and check out this week's pertinent reading material:
