The Big Dance: Villanova Takes On Run-DMC

Back at my blogging origins, The House That Glanville Built, I began a mostly regular Friday series called "It's Friday, Time to Dance." The premise behind it is that there are so many connections between sports and music, whether it is athletes dancing during celebrations, artists dropping sports references in their songs, athletes attempting to become musicians or whatever the case may be. It's fun. It's entertaining. And I've enjoyed it so much that I've decided to bring that practice here to The Sports Fan Journal.

In just two days, we embark on one of the most exciting times of the year—Selection Sunday. The NCAA Tournament is pretty much the greatest thing on Earth, and this season, things are truly up for grabs.

We all know Kentucky is the prohibitive favorite, and ACC powers Duke and Virginia are formidable foes almost certain to secure two of the remaining three one seeds. That fourth No. 1 is up for grabs, however, depending on what happens over these next few days.

The inside track, though, belongs to the Villanova Wildcats, a team that is as deep (and as good) as any in school history. Fresh off an 84-49 thrashing of Marquette in the Big East Tournament, the fourth-ranked Wildcats take on Providence tonight.

Right before the Big East Tournament began, to prepare for their highly anticipated postseason run the Cats let loose a bit for a Fox Sports 1 promo. Here are Ryan Arcidiacono, Darrun Hilliard, JayVaughn Pinkston and Daniel Ochefu doing their own Run DMC impersonations (h/t The700Level & VU Hoops).

Ah, what fun college was. Enjoy the conference tournament games this weekend. March Madness is upon us, and that is more than enough reason to celebrate.
