It’s the most wonderful time of the year, especially for sneaker heads. The Christmas season usually means new releases for an abundance of sneakers, and specialized editions for established favorites. As always Nike takes the lead on this approach, by unveiling the 2013 Christmas editions of their “Big 3” lines. The LEBRON 11, Kobe 8 System, and KD VI have all been revamped to fit the seasonal theme.
LEBRON 11
The latest edition of LeBron James signature shoe line has been quite popular (even if he's chosen not to wear it that often) mostly because of its unique militaristic look. The LEBRON 11 sports a combination of a mint green mixed color that’s highlighted with red accents most notably with the laces. The inner designs are complimented in the form of snowflakes to add to the seasonal look of the shoe.
KOBE 8 System
Out of the three major Nike signature lines, this is the most intriguing of the releases. With the KOBE 9 Elites releasing in February, Nike instead chooses to give last years favorite one more color scheme twist. Unlike the other two, this one doesn’t necessarily follow a Christmas theme so much as it prepares folks for February. The exterior design is reptile skin shedding, symbolizing that a new look for the Black Mamba is indeed coming. The green accents give it a more holiday feel, and the overall color scheme makes it a nice winter shoe to wear.
KD VI
The latest color scheme for the Kevin Durant signature series fits the holiday theme well. It’s Christmas red look with the mint colored soles will make this an ugly sweater party favorite. It still comes with all of the technology that one has expected with these signatures, but they should definitely be worn for comfort, and not play even though it’s always an option of course.
All of the shoes hit select retail stores on Dec. 26th as the Christmas colorways will be available in limited quantities at select retail stores and Nike.com. Enjoy the gallery below for additional photos of each of the colorways.
